I have loved the Beatles since I was in sixth grade. My early favorites were all of the early Beatles hits, and as I got older my tastes increasingly favored Beatles songs produced later and later in the band's career. Perhaps my musical tastes evolved at the same rate as the Fab Four's tastes? Hmm.For years, however, my favorite Beatles album has been Revolver (1966). J bought me a vinyl album record a few years ago, and it is often the record that's located on the turntable, waiting to be played. Not only are all of the songs great on this album, but I think there is a distinct cohesion and unity on this album that makes it unique. The songs go well together, and use of sitar on Love You To adds such a cool flair to the album's feel.
The songs included in Revolver are:
Side One
Taxman
Eleanor Rigby
I'm Only Sleeping
Love You To
Here, There and Everywhere
Yellow Submarine
She Said She Said
Side Two
Good Day Sunshine
And Your Bird Can Sing
For No One
Doctor Robert
I Want to Tell You
Got to Get You Into My Life
Tomorrow Never Knows
If I had to pick favorite songs, I would choose I'm Only Sleeping and For No One. What are your favorite songs from Revolver?
Here's a video clip that has the music of the first recorded take of I'm Only Sleeping. Although I like the final version, I really like the raw sound of this take.

Awww...that's MY favorite Beatles album as well. Who is your favorite Beatle? I'm a GH fan myself.
Elanor Rigby is one of my all-time favorite Beatles songs. Lately I've found myself addicted to the new album, Love, though.
Paul is my favorite. Once I got to see him perform in a free outdoor concert in Rome (it took place outside the Colosseum - how cool is that?!?). It was one of the highlights of my trip to Europe. And I was shocked that I screamed like a schoolgirl (er, I actually was a schoolgirl) when he came on stage. I couldn't help it - the lil' scream escaped without my control. I was able to quickly regained composure, though. :)
I love Love too, Kiersten!
I'm not nearly as big of a fan, or as educated of a fan, as you ... but I love the Beatles too. However, I'm definitely a bigger fan of their early work. I know it's rather commercial and it's that generation's boy band type stuff, but it's just so good! Plus, my parents were big early day Beatles fan and kind of pounded into my head that later Beatles stuff was the result of many drugged-out writing/recording sessions.
Anyway, what is your favorite work from their early days?
LOVE Eleanor Rigby and Hey Jude. I think I went through a big Beatles phase when their "1" album came out - Travis hadn't ever really listed to them, but I gave him my music when I went on my study abroad and now he really loves the Beatles. That was SO amazing to Paul in Rome!!! Were you that close to the stage?? Brooke, Dani, Steph and I were so far back, it was ridiculous, but who cares...it was incredible!
Oh man, there are a lot of great early songs that the Beatles recorded. From their first album Please Please Me, I really like their song Anna (Go With Him) and There's a Place.
Any other early hits that people like?
In regards to later albums, I think that the song Julia from the White Album is really lovely.
I first heard this album when I was at Linda Grow's boy/girl party and can remember holding the album in my hands. I've always felt lucky that the Beatles chronicled my growing up years, beginning when I was in 6th grade. Their last album together was released just as I graduated high school: from I Want To Hold Your Hand to the Long and Winding Road. My favorites on Revolver are Here, There and Everywhere and Good day, sunshine.
I am only sleeping in my favorite on this album, and Here, there . . . My favorite Beatles album is Rubber Soul.
