american idol top 8

So, even before watching the show tonight, J and I decided that either Scott or Anoop will probably get voted off this week. I actually thought that Anoop did a pretty good job (a lot better than last week, eh?), but I'm ready for Scott to leave. I wouldn't be surprised if Lil is in danger too - she has had a really hard time picking songs and building up her image as an artist. I like her, but I don't feel like her voice and style are becoming identifiable to the audience. Unfortunately, she's becoming forgettable.

My favorites from the night were probably Matt and Adam. I've said this before, but the control in Adam's voice is quite remarkable. He is able to sustain his notes and phrases very well (even though for a split-second I thought that the final note in his song was shaky - but he quickly regained control). And if your DVR stopped recording the show before Adam performed, you can watch a clip of his performance here.

Who do you think will go?

Me too -- I'm done with Scott.

I think the person next to go will be either Lil or Scott, and I think Allison will be in the bottom three.

I think Allison has great talent, but she's weird ... the audience can't connect with her. Plus, did you notice that Allison and Megan were like best buddies? Megan was soooo weird/annoying/bugged and if Allison is like that too, I think that's a major turn off for the American audience ...

I agree, I think Scott can go and I wouldn't be sad to see Lil go either, she's so boring. My DVR did stop recording so I completely missed Adam's performance, it made me mad! I'm trying to watch the clips online but my speakers aren't working too well. But my favorites were Adam (from what I could hear) and Matt. Loved them!!

it's time to get rid of scott and his poofy mullet. he should have been gone ages ago.

Ditto with scott. He's really not "versatile", like he was trying to show... I'm slowly coming 'round to Adam. Ever since he cleaned up a bit, I noticed his voice more instead of his black fingernails and well-manicured face/hair,etc., and he is a fabulous singer. Matt's my #1 choice though!

The DVR here also stopped right before Adam's performance so I just got my blog post up as well...so annoying! Why couldn't it cut off Scott's performance? I hope Scott goes tonight but I think Lil might also be in danger. I loved how he thought singing 80s soft rock was showing that he is "versatile". I laughed out loud when he said that. What was he thinking?

I finally got sucked into watching American Idol for the first time in my life about three weeks ago, and now I'm hooked. I'm not really a musical person, but it seems to me like the two people who have stood out as having the most extraordinary vocal talent of the bunch in the last three weeks are Adam and Allison.

I'm not really one to judge, though, seeing as I haven't really followed the show up until now, and seeing as I personally know nothing about good singing. I have no idea what types of people get voted off either, except that the others don't even really stand out to me and are therefore not memorable (but maybe that's also because none of the others are quite so emo as those two).

I liked that you mentioned the mullet, Zillah. Did anyone else hear Randy comment that Scott's hairdo is from "yesteryear?" Ha ha!

J calls it Scott's "Doogie [Howser] 'do"

i haven't seen the results yet, but i agree with Scott. he reminds me a bit of Donny Osmond, not fit to be an idol, but nice voice at times. Maybe with some training he could do a community theater showing of Joseph and the Amazing...

i disagree with the allison weirdness. she has never bothered me, but i think the judges are puting that idea into people's minds, so they're conforming instead of having their own opinions.

Adam is still number one for me, then allison, then danny. i think lil is staying because she got a good fan base at the beginning. she hasn't wowed anyone for a while now though.

i have been pleasantly suprised by Kris though. i don't think he'll win, but he is quite talented!

(oh my longness-i have too many opinions about AI)
