sam's cake

Both J and I are not big fans of cake. We didn't even have a wedding cake. Instead, we had a really awesome dessert bar with lots of great pies (although, admittedly, we did offer a some cake slices for the guests who came expressly for the purpose of eating wedding cake). Anyhow, it seems that Sam is like his parents. He wasn't too interested in his birthday cupcake; he just nibbled on tiny crumbs and some frosting. Last night we tried to give him another bite of cake, and he just spit it out. (I'm sure that his grandma (my health-food loving mother) will be quite pleased to hear that!)

We had to coax him to even touch the thing.

That's too funny! He'll have good teeth! I hope you all had fun celebrating the little guys birthday.

Yeah, the high chair is pretty old. J used to use it, and his other brothers might have too. I love wooden high chairs.

And you guys are right, I guess he will have good teeth! I didn't even think of that.

Wow. I've never seen a baby who didn't love cake! I hope the birthday celebration was fun!

Kirsten was the same way on her first birthday, she just picked at it and really wouldn't eat it at all. On her second birthday though, she loved cake! And I'm not a big cake fan either, it has to be really good cake for me to like it.

Good to see another person who isn't a big cake person. I'm very "meh" when it comes to cake, and I don't like chocolate cake at all.

Anyway, Sam is very cute (of course) and that clip was fun to watch -- the best part was the chorus of "mmmmmmmms!" by all the adults!
