I'm sure that many young LDS bloggers are familiar with the blog "Seriously So Blessed." The blog essentially parodies the blogging phenomenon that's popular with young Mormon moms. I think it's a spot-on mimic. (If you've never read this blog before, go to the "About Me" section on the main page to get a flavor for what this blog is like.) I think that today's post is great. My other favorite posts are TAMN's (Tiffany/Amber/Megan/Nicole - pick whatever popular name you like best) thoughts on the presidential race and the economic situation.
If you haven't read this blog, you should check it out. It will make you laugh - especially if you are familiar with other blogs by Mormon mommies. I just hope my blog never becomes like the ones that are parodied on this site! (I write that, knowing that the reason I find today's post so funny is because I occasionally blog about American Idol. Yikes!)

What cracks me up the most about this blog is that so many of the readers/those who leave comments do not seem to realize that she's making fun of them!
I was reading a post -- the one about getting back into the "swing" of things with her husband now that it's been six weeks since the birth of the "twins" -- and when I read the comments I about died. All the comments were SO serious; women leaving advice and whatnot about how, ahem, get back into things.
Cracked me up. I wanted to leave a comment telling the other readers that the blog author, is in fact, joking/making fun of them and not actually needing sex advice. Oh, too funny!
I had never seen the blog before--it is really funny. I find it a little painful to read, though, maybe in part because I see myself doing some of the same things, or maybe because I usually scan through posts like those without really reading them on real blogs. It made me realize how few of my true opinions I put on my own blog for fear of sparking controversy or not fitting the mold, though.
Hee Hee Hee Hee, much needed laugh!
That blog always makes me laugh. It always reminds me to lay off the exclamation points. (I was just about to put one there.)
I think one of the best parts is how she misspells things/spells them phonetically with a Utah accent: "Idih" and "rilly" and "mission filled" - it just makes it that much more pitch perfect :)
I also think it's hilarious that she calls the President "Brock" - genius!
Yeah, Jaime, calling the president "Brock" is one of my favorite things. And I love how she says in her presidential post that she loves and "gets" black people, because she "went to high school with one." Ha! And I love that "Utahnetic" spelling too.
And Emilee, I laugh when people read that blog and seem to take it seriously. It's like irate people who call the Phil Hendrie radio show because they think that the guests are actually legit.
Kiersten, it's interesting that you wrote about the "fear of sparking controversy or not fitting the mold." I'm always paranoid that my blog fits into the traditional mold, which I find terrifying. But at the same time, I worry about offending people or writing about things that will make people upset/concerned. It's sometimes hard to find a good balance with writing the things that I want to write, as opposed to the things that I think will cause controversy or problems. Not that I have a whole bunch of controversial things to say...I guess I'm just admitting that I'm not an open book on this blog, which (at this point) is fine with me.
